Malta – Climber´s Paradise

I am living in Malta for more than five month now and go climbing at least once a week here. Two days ago, I made a small video of a typical climbing day in the Mosta Valley.

There are more than 1500 climbs (about 600 fully bolted sport routes) in all parts of Malta, Gozo & Comino. Since 2007 there has been a lot of new routes added and many routes newly equipped with just lower-off’s or fully bolted.

The climbing community here is quite big and you should definitely join the Malta Climbing Club on Facebook if you are planning to go to Malta and you want to go rock climbing.

For details on joining the club, please follow the link to the MCC website:

The subscription fee is only €15 for a year. T

They are doing weekly events like the Club Meet on a different location every Wednesday. If you ever wanted to try rock climbing that´s an opportunity to do it: They bring spare equipment like shoes, harness and ropes. For club members it´s free to rent, for non-members it´s  €5.

In the winter time, there is also a Boulder Meet in the Scout Building in Sliema twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) from 7-10pm.
