The best way to get around in Indonesia is definitely a scooter. The longer you rent it, the cheaper it gets per day. For a month I payed 1€/day, for two weeks 2€/day. Same same, but totally different.
So, as soon as you got your scooter, you should “tune” it. This is what you need:
- A scooter
- Gaffa Tape
- A smartphone with GPS
- A local SimCard with at least 2 GB of Data (2-3€)
- A small boombox (3-5€)
Tape your smartphone on the scooter that you can still see the display ( You should tape something like two bags wich are holding your mobile phone in the middle (don´t put the tape directly on the phone, that you can easily put it in and out).
Then tape the boombox on the scooter as well.
Connect your smartphone via Bluetooth to your boombox and start Google Maps.
You will never get lost and enjoy your ride with some music now! ;D
